Israel Protecting their Journalist – By Susan Binchy,Haaretz

A key issue that Israel wish to address is Journalistic freedom. A topic of discussion for The Social, Humanitarian and Cultural committee.

Israel features a lively, pluralistic media environment in which press freedom is generally respected. Nevertheless, due to ongoing conflicts with Palestinian groups and neighboring countries, media outlets are subject to a military censor, and journalists sometimes face travel restrictions.

Sarah Yahya a delegate for Israel believe Israel is the ideal that other countries should stride towards. That the model of the , “voluntary press council should be rolled out in every country” , as a means of allowing Journalism to be independently audited. They also wish to see global workshops for female journalists entering war torn countries.

Miss Yahya indicated that they had support from allies Denmark, USA and France.
