Go back in time and re-draft the MDGs

The meeting of HGA is being held in Salons B&C, whose full name is Historical General Assembly, 2000, about 140 had attended this committee, at the meanwhile, they have two topic areas this year. Topic area A is about Millennium development Summit: Revisiting the Millennium Development Goals,and topic area B is about Decolonization and Democracy. However, they chose Topic area B to discuss when the interviewing.

Learned by the director of Historical General Assembly, 2000, Aaisha Shah, we know, at the beginning of new century, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Millennium Declaration, UN members states recognized their “collective responsibility to uphold the principles of human dignity, equality and equity at the global level,” and were “determined to establish a just and lasting peace all over the world in accordance with the purposes and principles of the Charter”. Because of this, world leaders drafted 8 Millennium Development Goals,or MDGs, which they believed reflected the aspirations of the Millennium Declaration. The deadline for achieving these goals is set to expire in 2015. With all the goals have been done globally, after overcoming the challenges and having set developments institutions and the remarkable examples countries. HGA gives the opportunity to go back in time and redraft the MDGs. Delegates are highly encouraged to set different targets and determine new indicators of measurement in light of the Millennium Declaration of 2000.

A student from The university of Maryland named Adam who is one of delegates of HGA just said it was interesting to attend this committee.

“I think it is awesome to know the developments of these powerful countries and also,their history and what they had passed through attracted me to join this committee.”

This committee shows  us a group of excellent delegates who care about the development of countries all over the world, we will continue to report the dynamics of Historical General Assembly, 2000.
